2023 Pinot Noir Rosé

We farm Pinot Noir at Jespersen Ranch and each year we choose specific blocks to farm intentionally for our Rosé wine. The vineyard is located in the northwestern corner of the Edna Valley AVA just four miles from the ocean. In 2023 we hand-harvested two blocks of Pinot Noir early in the morning on September 15th.

The 2023 vintage has aromatics of kiwi and citrus followed by notes of strawberry and pink grapefruit on the palate. Clean minerality and an elegant finish make this a vibrant and lively wine.

After harvest, half of the grapes were whole cluster pressed and the other half were destemmed. We fermented half of the Rosé in a concrete tank to accentuate minerality and the second half fermented in stainless steel, to highlight the vibrant acidity. The wine aged in neutral oak barrels for 6 months before bottling.
